April 2024 Wrap

I have had SUCH a good 2024 when it comes to reading – and April might be my best reading month so far of the year. The weather is finally turning into sunshine and warmer temperatures where I am, so here’s to outdoor reading season! I may have gotten a little sunburnt reading the third Magnolia Parks book outside on Sunday.

April Reads

The seven books below are my FAVORITES of the month: The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren (out 5/14), The Women by Kristen Hannah, Forget Me Not by Julie Soto, Expiration Dates by Rebecca Serle, and the first three books in the Magnolia Parks series. MY FAVORITE of the month is so, so hard to choose! The Paradise Problem is one of my top three favorite Christina Lauren novels, and I was completely enamored by Kristen Hannah’s The Women – it was so different than what I’ve been picking up lately (historical fiction following a nurse during the Vietnam War), but it was so,SO good.

I breezed through Expiration Dates – it literally is the perfect book to read in ONE sitting – because I love how Rebecca Serle’s books make you think about love and relationships, and she has such a succinct writing style. The hype is also completely worth it when it comes to Julie Soto’s Forget Me Not — how did I not know that it was a romance between a wedding planner and florist?? Like so many readers, I am also obsessed with the Magnolia Parks universe. I find myself enjoying the book throughout and then within the last 100 pages, I enter this must-read-now world and have to have the sequel immediately (wish me luck when I most likely read the latest book in May).

I also read Bye, Baby by Carola Lovering, The Sicilian Inheritance by Jo Piazza, and Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano. These have been pretty hyped books – the first two are both 2024 releases, while Hello Beautiful has gotten so much buzz now and since its release last year – but I overall felt pretty medium on them.

What did you read in April? Have you read any of the books I did? Share in the comments!
