Anticipated Releases Tag: 2020 Edition

I can’t believe it will soon be time for me to share my Fall 2020 anticipated releases lists! I plan on having one or two posts dedicated to the rest of the 2020 releases I’m excited about towards the end of August or in early September, but today’s Anticipated Releases Tag will give a sneak peek of the books I’m most excited about! I first did the anticipated releases tag back in 2019. The tag was originally created by Ellyn of Allonsythornraxx.

Most Anticipated Release

I’m currently the most excited about Majesty by Katherine McGee, the sequel to American Royals. American Royals was in my top 3 favorite books of 2020. I’ve basically been waiting for the sequel to come out since last summer, especially because of it’s ending! I think I’m going to reread American Royals in August to re-familiarize myself on this book following the AMERICAN royal family.

A Book You’re Not Anticipating

I probably will pick it up at some point, but I’m not super excited for Marissa Meyer’s Instant Karma. I’m so for reading any genre from Marissa Meyer, but I’m not that interested in the slight magical realism aspect.

Most Underhyped Release

I’m so excited for Laura Taylor Namey’s A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow, especially because I loved her debut, The Library of Lost Things.

A Book You’ve Been Waiting on Forever

I added Love & Olives, the third book in Jenna Evans Welch’s Love & Gelato’ series, to my Goodreads shelf last November. I know, I know, people have waited much longer for books than a year, but I’m just so excited to jump back into Jenna Evans Welch’s writing style and Greece – I don’t think I’ve read a book set there since I read The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants! Love & Olives was originally slated to come out this summer, but will now release on November 10, 2020.

A Book You’re Anticipating Out of Your Comfort Zone

Although I have read all of her other books, V.E. Schwab’s The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue will be a break from my mostly contemporary reading year. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue comes out on October 6, 2020.

Your Top 3 Can’t Wait Books of the Year

Recommended for You by Laura Silverman – I feel like I’m cheating a bit with this answer because I am fortunately on the blog tour for Recommended For You and have a review copy already, but it’s my most anticipated read in August! How can I not LOVE a rom-com set in a bookstore?? Recommended for You comes out on September 1, 2020.

Crazy Stupid Bromance (The Bromance Bookclub #3) by Lyssa Kay Adams – Lyssa Kay Adams is an author whose books, especially those in The Bromance Bookclub series, will always be among my most anticipated! I loved Alexis and Noah in Undercover Bromance as individual characters, so I can’t wait to dive into their romance. Crazy Stupid Bromance comes out on October 27, 2020.

In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren – Christina Lauren’s books are also among my auto-anticipated reads, but I’m especially excited to see their take on holiday romance with In a Holidaze. In a Holidaze comes out on October 6, 2020, but me being the atmospheric holiday reader that I am, I likely won’t read it until November or December.

Top 5 Anticipated Backlist Books on Your TBR

There are always so many backlist books on my TBR, but I’m going to try and avoid listing books I’ve mentioned a lot on the blog or recent releases (think summer & spring 2020) below.

An American Marriage by Tayari Jones

Our Year of Maybe by Rachel Lynn Solomon

Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren

Verona Comics by Jennifer Dugan

The Wall of Winnipeg by Mariana Zapata

What books are you anticipating for the rest of 2020? Any that I mentioned? Any that I should add to my TBR radar? Share in the comments!
