Taylor Swift Lover Book Tag

“I love shiny things but I’d marry you with paper BOOKS”

Those might not be the exact lyrics to “Paper Rings,” but if there’s two things that I love right now it’s books and Lover. As a T-Swift fan, I had of course been highly anticipating Lover as soon as it was it announced. I totally admit that I was very hesitant about this album ,since her sound has changed so much over the past three albums. While I love Reputation, I didn’t loveeeeeee it the way I love Red (which still remains as my favorite Taylor Swift album).

However, I love Lover so much! It stands on its own while still incorporating elements from her other albums. The bridges in each song are amazing and I love its uniqueness (I live for the “He looks up, grinning like a devil” in “Cruel Summer”). Although the entire album isn’t cheery- I need at least one box of Kleenex next to me when “Soon You’ll Get Better” comes on- I love its overall upbeatness. My answer changes everything and the following are in no order, but as today my top 5 songs from the album are:

I Think He Knows

Cruel Summer

Lover

Soon You’ll Get Better

Cornelia Street

I Forgot That You Existed: A book that you want to forget you ever read

I’m going with the most recent book I read that made me feel this way, but Again, but Better by Christine Riccio. Again, I WANTED to like this book so badly but it was so cringe all around.

Cruel Summer: A book you turn to when the going gets rough

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Lover : Your book OTP

Lysandra and Aedion from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas

The Man: Your fave kick-ass female protagonist

Astrid from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas

The Archer: A book with good mental health representation

The Library of Lost Things by Laura Taylor Namey

I Think He Knows: Your fave fictional crush

Levi from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince – Fave angsty romance

I will not stop screaming my love for the Off-Campus series overall (especially The Goal), but The Score was especially angsty.

Paper Rings – Book with an ugly cover that you absolutely adored

51nTPzLNyMLCream of the Crop by Alice Clayton. I’ve really grown to love (new adult) romance and I wish they got the gorgeous or intricately designed (aka not just a shirtless guy on the front) book covers they deserve.

Cornelia Street – A book or series you never want(ed) to end

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. While I love how we’re still getting to actively live in this world through Netflix, I will always want a fourth book about my girl Lara Jean or a spin-off series following Kitty.

Death By A Thousand Cuts – A book or series that deserved a better ending

Live love saving all of my fictional loves, but the Lunar Chronicles needed a bit more of a realistic ending.

London Boy – Your fave British male protagonist

Proud sponsor of the Neville Longbottom fan club right here.

Soon You’ll Get Better – A book that your heart will never recover from

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson

False God – A character you would leap into the burning pits of hell to save

Tucker from The Goal by Elle Kennedy

You Need To Calm Down – A book with a powerful message

Unpreganant by Jenni Hendriks and Ted Caplan

Afterglow – A book you want to give a second chance

The Map From Here to There by Emery Lord. I had such high expectations for this upcoming 2020 release, even though The Start of Me and You acutally isn’t my all-time favorite Emery Lord book. While I enjoyed The Map From Here to There, I didn’t love it as much as I expected to. If I ever decide to reread it, I plan on putting all of my first read thoughts and original expectations aside.

ME! – Best character development

American Royals by Katharine McGee

It’s Nice To Have A Friend – Fave friends-to-lovers story

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Daylight – If you could only read one book or series again and again, what would it be?

Just like how I’ll forever be a T-Swift fan, my forever question to this answer is Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl.

  1. I love this! I’ve recently started reading New Adult romance too. Started Off Campus series and I’m addicted. Read Wallbanger by Alice Clayton and was hesitant starting the series Cream of The Crop is in because of the covers (😬) but will check it out now!

    • Thank you so much! The Briar U series is on my fall TBR and I’ll have to check out Wallbanger. Make sure you read Nuts before Cream of The Crop, they’re both so atmospheric (and steamy haha).

  3. Aaah, why am I seeing this tag for the first time!?! I really need to get to it, sometime!
Also, Lysandra and Aedion are a great couple!! And one of my many fictional crushes is Levi.
And I too think I will always want a spin-off for Kitty. She deserves a book! And American Royals is a great book too!
