The fall is typically the best season of the year for new books. In the YA and NA worlds, I’ve found that this season has gotten better and better every year.
Last year, I did a mega-release roundup for the fall, but since there are THAT many books coming out, I’ve decided to just share my top ten new releases. At the time of this post, I have not received these titles for review. Since I was very fortunate enough to attend Book Expo 2019 and have been sent other Fall 2019 releases for review, I’ve recently shared my favorite fall releases that I read for review. I still have a decent amount of Fall 2019 titles to go, which I will still be diving into at school this fall. Without further ado, let’s get into ALL the new books I can’t wait to get my hands on!
Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks
Release Date: August 27
Pumpkinheads has been featured in so many of my blog posts in 2019, but I really cannot wait to dive into this graphic novel from one of my all-time favorite authors. I’m debating if I’m going to read this one in one sitting like I normally do with graphic novels or try to savor it as much as I can the first read around.
She’s the Worst by Lauren Spieller
Release Date: September 3
Not only do I love books that capture my attention for their gorgeous cover, but I especially love books with gorgeous covers that have a synopsis that makes me double-click on the ‘Want-to-Read’ button on Goodreads. I really hope She’s the Worst delivers for me, as I am so looking forward to this book about two sisters who haven’t been too close spend a day together trying to figure out each other and their family’s secrets.
Well Met by Jen DeLuca
Release Date: September 3
Jen DeLuca’s Well Met– a hate-to-love story taking place at a Ren Fair- has been receiving so much love and attention from early reviewers that I just had to add it to my TBR. I’ve been reaching more and more for the hate-to-love trope this year and I’m so ready for Jen DeLuca’s take.
Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell (Simon Snow #2)
Release Date: September 24
When I originally thought of the sequel to Carry On, I would not have had road trip across the American West in mind, but like my reaction to all of Rainbow Rowell’s books, I AM SO HERE FOR IT! I think this book is going to be such a fun spin and follow up to Simon and Baz’s story.
Rebel by Marie Lu (Legend #4)
Release Date: October 1
Rebel is the fourth installment in the Legend series that I always knew I needed and so excited that we have! I actually haven’t read the synopsis for this one because I want it to be a surprise- aka I still need to catch up on my Legend series reread before reading Rebel.
The Play (Briar U #3) by Elle Kennedy
Release Date: October 7
I still have to read the first two books in Elle Kennedy’s Briar U series, but I am so obsessed with her Off-Campus series that I know I will be getting into the third book in the spin-off series ASAP!
Our Wayward Fate by Gloria Chao
Release Date: October 15
While I enjoyed Gloria Chao’s American Panda, I think I’m even more excited for Our Wayward Fate, a book about cultural identity and forbidden romance in Midwest USA.
The Toll by Neal Shusterman (Arc of a Scythe #3)
Release Date: November 5
Thunderhead had one of the best and most shocking cliff-hangers I’ve ever read, which means I have been waiting for The Toll since finishing Thunderhead! I am so excited (and totally nervous) to dive back into this world.
The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black (The Folk of Air #3)
Release Date: November 5
There’s so much hype and love for Holly Black’s Folk of Air series across the book community. While I just enjoyed The Cruel Prince, I fell in love with The Wicked King. Another book with an ending that left me screaming for the next book!
The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams
Release Date: November 5
I’ve dived into the NA and romance book world this year, which has made me even more excited for The Bromance Book Club. The Bromance Book Club sounds like such a unique and funny story, as a baseball star decides to join a secret romance book club in hopes of saving his marriage.
What books are you anticipating this fall? Any of the above? Share in the comments!
I am counting down the days until the release of The Toll. Can’t wait!!
The Bromance Book Club sounds adorable!
