While I’ll sometimes discuss my book hauls and non-bookish favorites in my monthly wrap-ups, I wanted to use another space to discuss my favorites and the books I picked up in March. The books that I read and TV shows and movies that I watched in March will be in m wrap-up on Sunday.
Favorites
Anastasia on Broadway– My college hosts about 1-2 Broadway trips every semester, and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to attend at least one show! I had heard fairly positive things about Anastasia, based on the 1997 animated film, but I didn’t really have any expectations. In short, I enjoyed Anastasia so much! I particularly loved the set and costume design (so many jewels!) and I loved the music. I had forgotten that Cody Simpson played one of the lead roles, Dmitry, and I was honestly blown away by his
performance. I don’t really remember listening to his music growing up, but nonetheless, my pre-teen friends and I would probably have been screaming! My favorite songs are “Journey to the Past,” “Once Upon a December,” and “In a Crowd of Thousands.”
I’m really happy that I had the opportunity to see the show before it closes on March 31. My roommates are seeing The Prom (my school’s other spring Broadway trip that I really can’t miss class for) this week, so I’m excited to hear their thoughts.
Zoella x ColourPop Brunch Date
Zoe Sugg of Zoella is my favorite non-bookish YouTuber, although I do love her collaborations with WHSmith and when she does discuss her reading life. Since her beauty and lifestyle ranges are less available here in the US than in the UK, I was beyond excited by her Brunch Date collaboration with ColourPop! One of my co-workers highly recommended ColourPop, so I was very excited to try their product collab with Zoella.
While I don’t really have any sort of makeup routine, my go-to and favorite products are eye shadow and mascara. The only other makeup I really use at the moment is concealer on my bad skin days! Anyway, I bought the Brunch Date pressed powder shadow palette and I couldn’t be more happy with it! I love its packaging design, as well as the collection’s design overall. I’m really liking the built-in mirror. I personally love how the palette features neutral colors, making it the perfect palette for day and night looks. My go-to colors have been Skinny Latte (I love glitter), Mimosa, Maple Syrup, Sunny Side Up and Cinnamon Sugar (I had a shade like this in my NYX palette but I ran out because I used it so much!). Non –Zoella, but I also bought the ColourPop mascara in Black On Black, which I still need to try.
Book Haul
Purchased
First & Then and Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills
After loving This Adventure Ends back in January, I knew I needed to have Emma Mills’ other books at the ready. Since First & Then and Foolish Hearts aren’t available through my local library, I broke out my Barnes & Noble gift card for them (not to mention that I absolutely love a good contemporary paperback or two). I’m so ready for First & Then’s Friday Night Lights vibes, and Foolish Hearts seems to be the favorite amongst my fellow bloggers.

Girls with Sharp Sticks by Suzanne Young (courtesy of Simon Pulse)
Everyone has much love for Suzanne Young’s The Program series, so I was very excited to jump into her latest release, Girls with Sharp Sticks. Girls with Sharp Sticks was such an eerie and thrilling read that takes place in a world a bit too close to our own, as Mena and her friends attend a school that teaches them how to be proper women for men.
Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston (courtesy of St.Martin’s Press)
After a long day of homework, I decided to go for a run and on my doorstep was one of my most anticipated releases, Casey McQusiston’s Red, White and Royal Blue. After loving Jenn Marie Thorne’s The Wrong Side of Right this month, I am so in the mood for more politics-involved YA, and I’ve head SO MANY good things about this book! Red, White and Royal Blue comes out on May 14th, 2019.
Current Library Books
99 Percent Mine by Sally Throne
When I’m super busy with school (how is finals season already here??), I love turning to contemporary books in my free time. While it hasn’t received as much love as The Dating Game, I’m ready for Sally Throne’s humorous writing style and characters.
Fame, Fate, and the First Kiss by Kasie West
I really want to read more Kasie West books in 2019. Since my last book of hers was Love, Life, and the List, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to read its companion novel, Fame, Fate and the First Kiss.
What are some of your March favorites? Did you add any new books to your shelves? Share in the comments!

omg you go so many amazing books! I heard foolish hearts was amazing. I still have it on my TBR list, and so haven’t had the chance to get my hands on it. I have so many books I own that I’m trying to get through, that I put myself on a bit of a book ban. I hope you enjoy them all though! xxx
