NEW YEAR SERIES RESOLUTIONS: 2019 Series TBR

If I had to list my relationship status with series, it’d have to say “it’s complicated.”

There are series where I will read the latest installment almost immediately after it comes out. Then, I’ll spend the next 1-2 years crying over how much I need the next one while ignoring other series.

Which leads me to my next point in that I will wait to read some series until I know when its last book will come out- you’ll find a few examples below. This has much to do with trying to avoid what-the-heck-happened-in-the-last-book feelings and that I love binge-reading book series.

Listed below are the series being prioritized on my 2019 TBR. Feel free to give me all of your kind, fangirl screams for not reading these series yet in the comments.

Series to Continue Or Finish

51qQJKvCdQL._SX319_BO1,204,203,200_The Winternight trilogy/ The Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden- I read The Bear and the Nightingale and The Girl in the Tower in 2018, and immediately after finishing the latter, I needed The Winter of the Witch. I’m hoping to read and sob over this final installment soon after it comes out on January 8.

Arc of a Scythe/ Book 3 by Neal Shusterman- I’m afraid that finishing the Arc of a Scythe series is still up in the air for 2019 reading completion because we haven’t been given a release date or name for the final book yet. I’m really hoping that the final book does come out in 2019 because I NEED to know how it will start, let alone end, considering Thunderhead’s end.

Grace & Fury/ Queen of Rising by Tracy Banghart- From what we know, Grace and Fury is intended to be a duology. But me being me, I wouldn’t mind this duology turn into a multi-book story arc. And me being me again, I don’t know how I’m going to wait until for this feminist fantasy sequel, Queen of Rising.

Series to Start & Finish

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake- Listening to Kendare Blake speak about Three Dark Crowns at Epic Reads Day made me want to pick up this series ASAP. I’ve heard mixed things about Three Dark Crowns, but I’ve found that the people who enjoy it, LOVE IT and will defend against any queen. I’m hoping that I own TDC and Queens of Feinbenn will motivate me to pick it up soon.

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir-I think the fact that An Ember in the Ashes has been on my TBR since 2016 deserves all the fangirl screams. I’ve always known that I would get to An Ember in the Ashes at some point, but I realized how much I needed to read this series while reading and seeing everyone’s reactions to A Reaper at the Gates.

Renegades by Marissa Meyer- I was originally planning on reading Renegades and Archenemies in 2018… but then Renegades was turned into a trilogy with the final book coming out in 2019. I admit that I may not change my series ways all that much and read the first two books before the final book comes out in late 2019.
