My Most Anticipated 2018 Winter Releases

2017 was an amazing year for book releases and it seems that 2018 is going to be no exception! Listed below are my most anticipated book releases for this January and February!

Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu – January 2nd You had me at new Marie Lu novel. Mari Lu’s Batman: Nightwalker is the second book in the DC Icons series. In all honesty, I don’t know too much about Batman, but I am excited to see Marie’s take on a young-adult Bruce Wayne.

A Taxonomy of Love by Rachael Allen– January 9th A Taxonomy of Love is a young adult contemporary novel following the life of Spencer, a teenage boy who has Tourette’s syndrome. I’ve heard nothing but positive things from reviewers who have read the book already, as A Taxonomy of Love emphasizes family, friendship and what it’s like to have Tourette’s.

The Ark by Alice OsemanJanuary 11th– Alice Oseman’s Radio Silence blew me away this year,  and The Ark sounds right up my alley. The Ark follows Angel, whose life is all about The Ark, a pop-rock trio of three boys. The Ark’s fandom has given Angel friendships and the feeling that she has a place in this world. On the other hand, Jimmy, the frontman of The Ark, is feeling lost more than ever. Angel and Jimmy are unexpectedly brought together and they’ll find out how strange and surprising reality really can be.

The Girlfriend by Michelle Frances January 30th- I’ve really enjoyed reading psychological thrillers in 2017, so I’m excited to keep up with this genre through The Girlfriend. The Girlfriend follows a mother’s discrepancy with her son’s girlfriend, who seems to be a bit envious of her possible mother-in-law’s life.

Wires and Nerve, Vol 2: Gone Rogue by Marissa Meyer– January 30th I’m a sucker for anything The Lunar Chronicles related, okay? I read the first volume of Wires and Nerve back in March and it was fun to be back in TLC world. My only disappointment about these graphic novels is that the take place before the final story in Stars Above.

Surprise Me by Sophie Kinsella– February 13th-  GIVE ME ALL THE SOPHIE KINSELLA BOOKS, PLEASE! I’m really excited for Surprise Me because it sounds a bit different than Sophie Kinsella’s other books, as the book follows a married couple work together to respark their relationship.

A Girl Like That by Tanaz Bhathena February 27thI’ve seen so many positive reviews for A Girl Like That and I am so excited to have this book in my hands! A Girl Like That follows two girls who live in Saudi Arabia. After being in a car accident, everything everyone thought about Zarin is questioned, even Porin, whose always only had eyes for her.

  1. I’m looking forward to Batman, too. I really enjoyed Marie Lu’s writing style when I read Warcross so fingers crossed it’s as good with Batman!
